

Green University of Bangladesh's Center for International Affairs (GCiA) successfully conducted a workshop focused on the QS Ranking system, aiming to elevate the university's global academic reputation. The workshop aimed to enhance Green University of Bangladesh's position in the QS World University Rankings by bringing together distinguished faculty members from each department and administrative leaders to discuss strategies for improving the university's global academic reputation.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome from the Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, a respected figure known for his contributions to academic excellence. He acknowledged the presence of Mr. Junayedul Munir, Additional Director of IQAC at United International University, recognized for his expertise in quality assurance. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, shared insights on the university's current ranking position and stressed the importance of enhancing it within the global higher education landscape through the QS Ranking system.
Mr. Junayedul Munir delved into the intricacies of the QS Ranking methodology, illustrating its significance with examples such as the evaluation criteria used and how they impact university rankings. The workshop detailed crucial steps for engaging in the QS Ranking, emphasizing the advantages of early submission in securing favorable rankings and the repercussions of inaccurate data on the university's standing. The workshop covered key criteria such as academic reputation, research impact, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, and international diversity. Strategies for conducting surveys and gathering data for QS Ranking applications were outlined, ensuring thorough and accurate submissions. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, addressing queries related to international faculty, student counts, and other relevant issues.
The workshop highlighted the need for continuous improvement and strategic planning to achieve higher rankings. The attendees, including prominent faculty members and administrative leaders, expressed their commitment to implementing the discussed strategies.
